Apricot Power Amygdalin B-17 500 mg. Is a glycoside initially isolated from the seeds of the tree Prunus dulcis, also known as bitter almonds. Several other related species in the genus of Prunus, including apricot (Prunus armeniaca) and black cherry (Prunus serotina), also contain amygdalin. Amygdalin is a plant compound that contains sugar and produces cyanide. Amygdalin is found in the pits of many fruits and in raw nuts. It is also found in other plants such as lima beans, clover, and sorghum. Amygdalin is extracted from almond or apricot kernel cake by boiling in ethanol; On evaporation of the solution and the addition of diethyl ether, amygdalin is precipitated as white minute crystals.
